AbstractInfotech Oulu Focus Institute promotes research in the University of Oulu’s strategic focus area of “Digitalization and smart society”. Being one of the University of Oulu’s four focus institutes, Infotech Oulu promotes multidisciplinary and internationally significant research, cross-faculty research cooperation, and researcher interaction and community spirit. Infotech Oulu Focus Institute’s periodic report from 2018–2021 summarizes the results of the Institute’s twelve strategic spearhead projects and five emerging projects including their bibliometric analysis. These projects have accomplished 300+ publications. During the four-year project duration, 29 doctoral theses have been finalized and more is expected in 2023. In addition, the report gives an overview of other activities within the focus area, such as events organized during the period. see all
