Abstract

Wellbeing is an important part of entrepreneurial performance that affects productivity and business performance of solo- and micro-entrepreneurs. Overall wellbeing consists of different dimensions: physical, psychological, and social wellbeing. In addition to different internal aspects, external environment and -factors have their influence on wellbeing and entrepreneurs’ capacity for optimal performance. This study examines what kind of impacts do learnt support practices and obtained professional guidance have on entrepreneurial performance and productivity of solo- and micro-entrepreneurs in form of a case study. The research material was gathered through a semi-structured questionnaire from participants of ODL Jatkoon! -project during December 2022 – January 2023. Key findings of the conducted study show that support practices and professional guidance have several positive effects on entrepreneur’s wellbeing. The results reveal that better overall wellbeing strengthens persons core competences, improves endurance and perseverance. Furthermore, better wellbeing increased the participants productivity and enhanced their performance in business. Especially peer-support had a significant impact on psychological wellbeing of entrepreneurs. With the results of this research, this study aims to deepen the understanding of the importance of professional guidance and support practices on wellbeing and productivity. The results of the study offer scientists and organisations opportunities to further investigate on the possibilities that active peer-networks can offer.
