Tiivistelmä

Tämän diplomityön aiheena on tarkastella suunnitelmatyön kehittymistä kilpailutyövaiheesta jalostettuun työhön analysoimalla kilpailutyötä sen sisäänjätön jälkeen. Kilpailutyötä analysoidaan ”Mahdollisuuksien museo — Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön museopoliittinen ohjelma 2030” -julkaisun teemojen kautta. Työn pohjana on suunnitelma Oulun uudeksi museo- ja tiedekeskukseksi, josta järjestettiin kilpailu kesällä 2022. Työn tavoite on parantaa omaa suunnittelutaitoa analysoimalla tehtyä kilpailutyötä ja kehittää suunnitelmaa kohti Museopoliittisen ohjelman määrittelemiä tavoitteita.

Suunnitelmapainotteinen diplomityö koostuu neljästä osasta. Ensimmäinen kappale taustoittaa museokilpailua ja esittelee suunnittelualuetta. Kappaleen lopussa esitetään kilpailutyö ja kilpailuplanssit sisäänjättövaiheessa. Toinen kappale esittelee Museopoliittisen ohjelman taustaa ja keskeisimmän sisällön. Museopoliittisen kuudesta teemasta keskitytään kappaleisiin: kohtaamiset ja kumppanuudet, osaava ja oppiva museoala ja museoiden kokoelmat esille ja käyttöön.

Työn kolmannessa kappaleessa tehtyä kilpailutyötä analysoidaan museopoliittisen ohjelman aiheiden kautta ja esitetään kehitysvaihtoehtoja uuden suunnitelman parantamiseksi. Muutosten taustoittamiseksi, tekijä esittää toteutettuja esimerkkejä kunkin aiheen ympäriltä. Neljäs kappale käsittää parannellun suunnitelman kilpailutyöstä, joka on muodostunut kolmannen kappaleen kehitysehdotuksista sekä omista havainnoista. Työn lopputuloksena on kilpailutyöstä ehostettu suunnitelma.

Attractive museum. The analysis of the museum political -program as a part of the museum design : case study Oulu museum and science center competition

Abstract

The subject of this diploma thesis is to examine a design work from competition phase to a refined design work by analyzing the competition work at its submission phase. The submitted work is analyzed via ”Mahdollisuuksien museo — Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön museopoliittinen ohjelma 2030” publications themes. The basis of the work is to design a new museum and science center in Oulu for a competition that was held in the summer of 2022. The aim of the this diploma thesis is to elevate my own design skills by analyzing the submitted design and to develop the design towards museum political -programs goals.

The design-based diploma thesis consists of four parts. The first paragraph describes the competition phases district and the competition itself. At the end of the paragraph the competition design is presented. The second paragraph presents the background and the fundamental information of the museum political -program. Out of the six themes of the museum political -program, this paragraph focuses on the three themes: encounters and partnerships, knowing and learning museum field and museums collections presented and used.

In the third paragraph, the competition design work is analyzed from the lens of the museum political -programs themes. Suggestions for improvement are presented to refine the new design to come. To argument the basis of the changes, the author presents examples of already built instances of designs. The fourth paragraph presents an elevated design of the museum and science center that is the result of the third paragraphs results and observations. The end result of this diploma thesis is an elevated plan from the competition phase.
