Tiivistelmä Alzheimerin tauti on aivoja rappeuttava, monitekijäinen ja etenevä muistisairaus, jonka perimmäinen syy ei vielä ole tiedossa. Väestön ikääntyessä Alzheimerin tauti yleistyy ja sen yhteiskunnalliset vaikutukset kasvavat. Heterogeeninen taudinkuva ja vaikea hoidettavuus ovat johtaneet taudin epigeneettisen taustan tutkimiseen. Tässä kirjallisuustutkielmassa tarkastellaan Alzheimerin taudissa ilmeneviä epigeneettisiä muutoksia ja niiden potentiaalista roolia taudin patologiassa. see all
